HOUSTON (AP)—The Houston Rockets signed guard Garrett Temple(notes) to a 10-day contract and waived seldom-used forward Brian Cook(notes) on Saturday.
The 6-foot-6 Temple started 30 games with Houston’s developmental league affiliate in Rio Grande Valley before initially signing a 10-day contract with the Rockets on Feb. 8.
He averaged 6 points and 2.3 rebounds in three games with Houston this month, playing a total of 50 minutes since guard Kyle Lowry(notes) was sidelined with an ankle injury.
The 6-9 Cook averaged only 2.9 minutes in 15 appearances this season. He was acquired by Houston from Orlando in a three-team trade a year ago and later exercised the player option on his contract for the 2009-10 season.
