Suns power forward Amare Stoudemire said he was able to “get a few things off my chest” during dinner with general manager Steve Kerr and managing partner Robert Sarver after Thursday’s trading deadline, The Arizona Republic reported.
Stoudemire had been part of several trade rumors leading up to the deadline, and Kerr praised him for remaining professional during that time. Stoudemire said he had “no ill will at all” toward the Suns, and that negotiating an extension with the team remains possible. According to the Republic, he has turned down an offer for two years beyond next season’s option year.
"We feel confident about the decision that was made as far as not trading me, and we’re looking to have a successful season," Stoudemire said. "It’s nothing personal at all. It’s really business."
